Feedback from the Community

Our children are our responsibility and by including them in creating a more culturally sensitive world, this Program has taken a major step towards more open minded and secure future.

Dr. Poonam Tangri
Mental Health Clinician

The Surrey Neighbouring Faiths Program is an opportunity for faith groups to share their diversity with others and celebrate our common humanity.

Rod Stolz
Surrey Baha’i Community

This Program, to be done in a child-friendly, non-threatening manner, is a new approach to a very old social problem. The idea is an optimistic method to combat prejudice and discrimination.

Sid Bentley
Retired Surrey Teacher

There is a real and pressing need for the establishment of multi-racial, multi-cultural and multi-faith groups such as the Surrey Neighbouring Faiths Program. A racially, culturally and religiously diverse society such as the one that we have in the lower mainland demands that the different groups, learn not just how to co-exist but do everything possible to enrich their lives by appreciating and celebrating their differences.

Member of Sikh community

In an area as diverse as we are here in Surrey, we have so much to learn from each other. What better way than to start with young children, before they developed prejudices!

Rev. Trish Schwartzberg
South Fraser Unitarian Congregation

This program is one of the best ways to get connected with our community as a whole! We live in such a diverse community and in order for us to integrate within our society we need to understand and respect each other first.

Sireen El-Nashar
Muslim Community

The Surrey Neighbouring Faiths Program has brought together many members of different communities and in particular have been instrumental in the teaching of the multitude of faiths to our youth.  I am so very proud to have worked with David Dalley and look forward to future endeavours.

Councillor Mary Martin
City of Surrey

Our Goals

To have fun, memorable experiences with people from different faith communities in Surrey.

To visit different religious buildings in Surrey.

To support children as they prepare to enter the diversity of the local school system.

To build connections among families that value diversity.

To empower families to raise knowledgeable and caring children in our multicultural and multifaith community.
